Happy Birthday To Me!!!!

Yep today is my birthday, and in honor of my birthday I made myself a birthday card. I used my newly purchased My Favorite Things Cool Cats stamp and die set along with some MFT pp, added a few enamel dots, and from Simon Says Stamps, the Wishing die. I did grab the You from Clearly Besotted Butterfly Wishes stamps. Oh and a Memory Box die for the balloon bracket.

The images were colored with some copics and I used a whole bunch of Fiskar punches for the layering above the balloon bracket.

Now I think I need a birthday present to go with that card.

A lost Sarah Kay card - Life Is Sweet

As I mentioned last week I was cleaning and organizing my room and found a stamped Sarah Kay image so I promptly took a break and colored it with some copics and made a card.

Altered Disney Frame

So I have been doing a bit of spring cleaning. Getting my room a little more organized and purging out what I know longer need or want. Doing so I came across this fabric board that I had originally altered to fit my room. However my room has been given a little bit of a makeover thanks to my dh a few years back and I no longer had the wall space for it.

Here it is many many many years ago. Before my hubby built me a wall of cabinets. When my dd came over the other day I asked her if she was interested in it at all. I told her I could alter into a Disney theme to go in her kitchen if she wanted and of course she said yes. Cool, fun project for me and I get to upcycle this board once more.

And here it is after. I used Mickey Flair from Queen and Co along with a bunch of Paper Wizard laser die cuts. And the buttons that had paper flowers on them were replaced with Mickey silhouette heads using a punch.

Unfortunately from this angle you can see the seams far more than I would have liked but until I can find pp that comes in lengths bigger than 12x12 it will have to do. I also hemmed and hawed about whether to add the tulle or not and finally just said do it.

And the glittery buttons I purchased somewhere and just cut the shank off the back and mounted them on a Mickey punch.

Mother's Day card

I am trying to stay on top of my card making this year. Up now is my Mother's Day card for my mom. She loves cacti so it seemed that this set from My Favorite Things would be perfect for her.

I have to confess I too like cacti so that was a double reason why I needed to have this set.

Used some water coloring for the background, added some splatters and then colored and cut the cactus. Finished it off with some washi tape and enamel dots.

Sending Smiles

I am using my Hello Chum stamps and dies again, this time it's for my monthly card that I send to the grandkids. I try to find things I think little boys will enjoy getting. I figured sharks are always an interest to kids of all ages.

This time I used my copic spray mister to make the background, cut out the circle using Simon Says Stamps stitched die and the cut and colored the images. I also added some clear enamel dots as well as using some clear liquid effects to add even more shine to the water.

Summer Shirts

I finally was able to sew my shirts for the boys and have to say they came out pretty darn cute.

At Easter they came dressed in the first set and it was painfully obvious to me that Zack's shirt was more a size fitted for Marshall so we had him swap shirts.

And despite my fears that a size 8 would be way too large for him it was a perfect fit. I love that this pattern should last them into their teen years and I can also make long sleeve shirts as well.

Shark card

I saw these stamps/die combo from Avery Elle and knew in an instant I had to have them. They will be great for some guy cards.

Since I knew I had purchased the Shark stamp set I stopped in at the Rubbernecker booth at the Expo and picked up a fun little sentiment to use with them.

I colored all that blue ocean with copics and both stamped and die cut the fishes, popping up the die cut ones. I added a few clouds and clear enamel dots.

This card is going to be for my Father In Law's Father's Day card.

Sarah Kay - Sending Birthday Wishes

This is the last of my Sarah Kay stamped cards. I was kind of sad to be done with them, but also felt taking more than that to the expo with me and I would just get tired of them.

The little round sentiment stamp is from Stampin Up. I think I have had those stamps forever. The pp of course Teresa Collins and the stiched rectangle die from My Favorite Things. The Bookmark die is from Papertrey Ink.
