Sarah Kay - Birthday Love

Still sharing more Expo projects, and this time I have a few cards. Mostly I stamp the images before I go so there is less that I have to take. I have learned to take a 6x6 paper pad to give me the color inspiration and then it makes easy to finish the cards at home with that same pp.

Searching through my stamp drawers I found some of my favorite Sarah Kay stamps and knew it had been far too long since I used them last and decided now would be the perfect time to put them to use.

First up is one of the cutest little stamps I have ever seen. A little girl with her teddy bear, how sweet is that?

I used Teresa Collins pp for the color inspiration and pp. Added the sentiment from a mix of stamps I had on hand. I believe they were Simon Says and Papertrey Ink, cut the stitched die from My Favorite Stamps and then finished it off with some twine and enamel goodies.

Disney Layout - Magic Starts Here

The last of my Disney layouts from the Expo. Looks like we are missing a kid but Zack was hiding his face that day. Refused to be photographed so we just squished together and tried to make a nice picture for Marshall.

Monster Card

Making another card to send in the mail to the boys. This time I choose these little monster guys from Technique Tuesdays. At first I just stamped and colored them with my copics and it just didn't seem enough so added a little dimension with the clouds and sun and it was still lacking so I layered it onto a yellow card and added a few enamel dots, now it looks better.

I will say this was probably one of the last things I did around 10pm at the crop so by that time it's hard to do a good job as compared to 9am at the start of the crop.

Disney Layout - Feel The Magic

I love this photo of my youngest dgs, the typical mouse ear shot; who can resist that. I did add in a few star sequins as if Mickey was throwing magic his way since I know he certainly was feeling it watching the Mark Twain boat arrive.

Watercolor Notecards part two

Being at the expo I was able to work on the rest of the watercolor notecards for my mother. I also bought a few stamps so I might make her eight card set into a set of 10 or perhaps 12.

Project Life - Kitty Pages

Another thing I was behind on was my project life. I brought both of my kitty albums as well as my December Daily and sadly I never even touched the DD, so I still need to catch up on that as well.

Here are a few pages that I completed and like most everything the journaling still needs to be completed.

First up Momo. This poor girl has hardly any pages in her album but I did have plenty of pictures saved off so it was easy to create several pages for her.

And a page spread for Houdini. I really didn't add too much embellishment to these pages. I really kind of liked how it looked with minimum add-ons.

Disney Layout - Mousy Christmas

I was fortunate enough to be able to attend the Scrapbook Expo over the weekend. My bff and I have been attending two shows a year for at least the past 10 years.

We used to just go for the crop on Friday but when they started adding a Thursday night Make and Take we started attending that as well, not that we do the Make N Takes but it gives us the opportunity for more crop time.

I think planning and prepping for these crops are one of the hardest things ever. You have to pull your supplies, figure out what you are going to work on and make sure you have pictures printed.
Then you need to balance bringing enough materials to keep you busy without over packing or under packing; I have yet to master it but I keep trying.

I brought a variety of things to work on because you do get tired of doing the same thing for the entire time. One of the things I wanted to do was make some layouts and I hadn't done a thing with any of my Disney photos so I printed off some of those and made sure I had cardstock, pp, some embellies and whatever else that was Disney themed.

This is one of the layouts I was able to complete. I did do a bit of shopping while I was there and picked up some laser die cuts. One of these was a title which was perfect for our Holiday trip last year.

I still need to my journaling in but at least it's 99% completed.

Love all the layering and of course I popped up a few pieces for more dimension.

Layout: The Webster Boys

Well it's been a long time since I did a layout. I figured I needed to brush off those skills and make sure I still could.

I had this photo in duplicate, one picture is destined for the family hall of portraits and the other well it was just extra until now.

I was up at my father's in law house after my mother in law passed away and my husband's cousin had gone through her mother's pictures and found this one. I was immediately drawn to it for two reasons.

The first is because ironically I have that very same sort of picture with my brothers so it intrigued me that there was someone close to me who had the very same thing.

Secondly because lets face it who doesn't like pictures of young children and the fact that one of them was my father in law made it even more special.

The photo needed a lot of cleaning up but I loved the sepia tone it gave me after I was done. I also made a print for my father in law and put it in a frame for him to enjoy.

Most of the products are old and if you have a keen eye you will see there is ephemera from Making Memories, that's just how old some of this stuff is. The large font is from my QK Diesel. The Boys is from QK Nutmeg (one of the last few remaining physical dies I still own in the form of an alphabet).  The "the" was cut using the Silhouette.
